Delivery Fit Guide

Step 1 — Know your dimensions

Start with the piece itself. You'll find the length, depth, and height on every product page. If you're choosing a modular, note the dimensions of the whole thing assembled, not just the individual sections. Packaging adds a little on every side, so allow a few centimetres of breathing room.

Step 2 — Check the whole path in

Your piece has to clear every point between the truck and the room it's destined for — not just the front door. Measure:

  • Doorways — width, height, and the diagonal, with the doors opened fully. If a doorway is too narrow, we may need to bring the piece through upright, so its height needs to be greater than the width of your sofa.
  • Hallways and corners — width and depth, paying close attention to tight turns.
  • Stairwells — the width at the narrowest point, plus ceiling clearance from both the top and bottom steps.
  • Lifts — the door width and height, and the internal depth, so we know whether the piece fits flat or tilted.
  • Gates, paths, and entryways — the approach to your home counts too.

Step 3 — Picture it in the room

Here's a trick that works: lay out the footprint of your piece on the floor with masking tape or newspaper. It's the easiest way to see how much space it'll take, and whether you're happy with it before it arrives. While you're there, think about height too — will the back and arms sit well alongside your other furniture?

A note on larger lounges

Some 3-seater and 4-seater lounges are delivered in a single piece. That means the whole lounge has to be manoeuvred around your corners and into the room — not simply through the entrance. If you're buying a large piece, this is the measurement that matters most.

On the day

Help us get your piece in smoothly:

  • Clear a direct path from the entrance to the room
  • Move anything fragile or breakable out of the way
  • Make sure someone's home to accept and sign for the delivery, and that we've got the right contact number for them on the day

The agreement

By placing your order, you're confirming that your piece can be delivered and placed in your home through standard access, and that you've checked it will fit through every doorway, hallway, stair, corner, and lift on the way to its room.

If a piece can't be brought in through standard access, we're unable to accept it back, so please measure carefully. If you're ever unsure, email us at sales@homelinefurniture.com.au before you order and we'll talk it through.

Warranty

How it works

Some of our finest lounges carry a ten-year structural warranty, three years on moving mechanisms, and one year on materials. Other pieces come with a standard twelve-month warranty. It comes down to who makes the piece and how it's built — not which range it sits in.

The simplest way to know exactly what's covered is to check the product page for the item you're interested in. The warranty terms are listed there, clearly, before you commit.

Making a claim

If something's not right, email us at sales@homelinefurniture.com.au with your order details and a description of the issue. We'll take it from there.

Domestic use only — commercial use voids the warranty

Every warranty we offer applies to normal domestic, household use only. Our furniture is designed, built, and rated for use in a home.

If a piece is placed in or used for any commercial, hospitality, rental, office, or other non-domestic setting — including but not limited to cafes, restaurants, bars, waiting rooms, short-stay or holiday rentals, offices, and shared or public spaces — the manufacturer's warranty is voided immediately and in full, from the moment the piece is put to that use. This applies regardless of how lightly the piece is used or how soon after purchase it occurs.

Commercial-grade furniture is available on request. If you're furnishing a commercial space, email us at sales@homelinefurniture.com.au before you order so we can point you to pieces rated for that use.

Your rights

These warranties sit on top of the rights you already have under the Australian Consumer Law — they don't replace them. Our goods come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the ACL.

Product Care

Care kits

For timber, leather, and fabric pieces, the easiest way to keep them looking their best is a purpose-made care kit — the right cleaner and conditioner for the material, without the guesswork. We stock care kits in store and online, and you're equally welcome to buy one anywhere you like; just make sure it's suited to your piece's material and finish. Using the correct products also helps keep your warranty intact.

General care

Dust regularly with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Keep furniture out of direct, prolonged sunlight and away from heating and cooling vents, fireplaces, and radiators — heat and UV fade fabrics, dry out timber and leather, and can cause warping or cracking over time.

Lift furniture to move it; never drag it, as this stresses joints and legs and can damage your flooring. Avoid placing hot items, sharp objects, or heavy loads directly on surfaces.

Timber

Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately — never leave water or spills sitting on the surface. Use coasters, placemats, and felt pads under objects to protect the finish. For cleaning and feeding the timber, we recommend a dedicated timber care kit — available from us in store or online, or from any reputable supplier — rather than abrasive cleaners, silicone-based polishes, or all-purpose sprays, which can damage the finish. Natural timber may develop subtle variations in tone as it ages; this is a characteristic of the material, not a fault.

Fabric upholstery

Vacuum regularly using a low-suction upholstery attachment, and rotate and plump loose cushions to distribute wear evenly. Attend to spills immediately by blotting — never rubbing — with a clean, dry cloth. For routine cleaning and stain protection, we recommend a dedicated fabric care kit — available from us in store or online, or from any reputable supplier — chosen to match the manufacturer's cleaning code on your piece. Where professional cleaning is recommended, use a specialist upholstery cleaner rather than household products.

Leather

Some of our lounges are full leather; others use genuine leather on every surface you sit on and touch, with a matched man-made leather on the back and sides — it protects the hide from rubbing on walls and keeps the price sharper. The product page tells you which construction a piece uses.

Dust and wipe with a soft, dry cloth. To keep the hide clean and supple, we recommend a dedicated leather care kit — available from us in store or online, or from any reputable supplier — and conditioning two to three times a year. Blot spills promptly and never use solvents, saddle soap, or household cleaners. Natural leather carries marks, grain variation, and tonal differences that are signs of genuine hide, not defects.

Marble & stone

Marble and natural stone are porous and stain easily, so wipe up spills straight away — particularly anything acidic such as wine, citrus, coffee, or vinegar, which can etch the surface. Clean with a soft, damp cloth and a pH-neutral cleaner only; never use vinegar, citrus, or abrasive or all-purpose cleaners. We recommend a dedicated marble or stone care kit — available from us in store or online, or from any reputable supplier — and periodic sealing to help guard against stains. Always use coasters, placemats, and trivets, and lift objects rather than dragging them across the surface.

Mechanisms & moving parts

For recliners, sofa beds, and pieces with moving mechanisms, operate them gently and fully, and keep fingers and loose items clear when adjusting. Do not sit or place weight on extended footrests or open sections. Keep mechanisms free of dust and debris.

What care does not cover

Damage caused by misuse, neglect, failure to follow care instructions, or the use of unsuitable cleaning products is not a manufacturing fault and is not covered by warranty. If you're unsure how to care for a particular material or finish, email us at sales@homelinefurniture.com.au before you treat it.
